Admissions

Welcome to the Mossbourne Fobbing Academy Admissions information page, and thank you for considering Mossbourne Fobbing Academy as a secondary school for your child.

This page tells you how to apply to Mossbourne Fobbing Academy and where to find further information.  Our full admissions policy, with details of our admissions criteria, can be downloaded from the bottom of the page.

Parents are also advised to read the advice given by Thurrock Local Authority which includes how and when to apply, what to do if you wish to appeal and how to apply late or make 'in year' applications. The advice also includes catchment area information by address. All this guidance can be accessed here

All applications to Mossbourne Community Academy must be made through Thurrock Secondary School Admissions.

Applications received after the closing date are treated as late applications. This means there will be far less chance of your child being offered a place at the school you want.

Admissions appeals

If your child's school admission application is unsuccessful, you may wish to appeal against the decision. For advice on admission appeals, go to GOV.UK: Advice for parents and guardians on school admission appeals.

We do not provide an admissions appeals service.

You should check the website of the school for which you applied to find out who provides its admissions appeals service. If the appeals service is provided by Essex County Council, you can appeal online at Essex County Council: After your school offer. Otherwise, follow the guidance on the school’s website.

Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at Mossbourne Fobbing Academy, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. We would advise you to read the School Admission Appeals Information booklet before completing the online appeal form.
